Reading at Orcas Island Lit Fest
I’m honored to be joining the lineup of guest artists at the Orcas Island Lit Fest, June 2–3, 2023. Lit Fest is an intimate gathering of inspiring authors, and includes a (free) Friday night Lit Walk—during which I’ll be reading at Darvill’s Bookstore with other writers whose work has been published by Wandering Aengus Press or Homebound Publications. Our readings begin at 6pm.
Full Ecology: Book Review and Event
On October 28th at 6:30pm, social-cultural psychologist Mary Clare and science writer Gary Ferguson will offer a free public presentation about tackling climate change at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art. Mary and Gary advocate grounding ourselves in “full ecology”—also the title of their new book (see my review)—to confront climate change without burning out our inner sun.
Event: Voices from the Heart of Cascadia
Please join me and several other writers who contributed to the new anthology, Keep a Green Bough: Voices from the Heart of Cascadia, for an outdoor reading on July 25 at 4pm. The reading will take place at the Dungeness River Audubon Center in Sequim, Washington.
Event: A Walk in the Wild
While enrolled in my MFA program at Pacific Lutheran University, I had the privilege to work with mentor Gary Ferguson—acclaimed author of more than two dozen books, and an inspirational thinker, speaker, and writer on behalf of wild nature. On Earth Day, April 22, Gary and social scientist Mary M. Clare will launch their new book, Full Ecology, via a virtual event titled, “A Walk in the Wild: Reclaiming Human Nature.”
