Come Celebrate Mountains & Books

Come join me and other writers, readers, and outdoor enthusiasts at the FREE Bainbridge Island Book Festival on Saturday, September 26, where I’ll be moderating a panel titled “The Mountain is Out” with regional authors David C. Williams (In the Range of Fire and Ice) and Craig Romano (Day Hiking the Olympic Peninsula). We’ll be talking about mountains and wildlife and the words we use to bring place to life on the page. Side note: I’m honored to be featured in David’s chapter on wolverines, which will no doubt be a lively topic of discussion.

The festival begins Friday night with an opening gala and fundraiser. Keynote author Edwidge Danticat (whose latest novel, Déy, was longlisted for the 2026 National Book Award) will be in conversation with Seattle Times arts critic Moira Madonald. You will need to purchase tickets for this event, which will be held at the Stan Pockock Legacy Rowing Center. See details via the link below.
